Photography Art Exhibitions London September 2020 Photography Art exhibitions in London this September feature British talent as well as talent from around the world. British photographer Oli Kellet has his second solo exhibition at HackelBury gallery. There you can see work from his ongoing series Crossroads, shot in America. In Chelsea at the Michael Hoppen gallery, there is work by late Japanese photographer Fukase. In terms of online exhibitions, details of Bildhalle’s Thomas Hoepker portraits of Muhammad Ali and others are below. Speaking of Muhammad Ali, the Gordon Parks show continuos at Alison Jacques gallery in Fitzrovia. Photography Art Exhibitions London September 2020 September sees some quality Photography art exhibitions in London as Autumn exhibitions begin to open. For example, Alison Jacques gallery reopens after the summer break with the second part of the Gordon Parks show. This series is the first show of work by the influential Civil Rights era photographer in 25 years. Further east, in Bethnal Green, the Four Corners gallery presents the work of 17 women who fled Nazi Europe and established themselves as photographers in the UK. As well as the gallery shows we have included an online exhibition. This shows work from one show in particular at the 2020 Seoul Photo Festival. Note that some of the gallery exhibitions, such as Another Eye: Women Refugee Photographers in Britain after 1933 are accessible online as via in person visits. Another newly opened exhibition includes haunting images from a fairground close to Chenobyl. That show features work by German photographer Christopher Thomas. The title Bittersweet is apt for summing up the broad range of emotion evoked by the images. Photography Art Exhibitions London August 2020 Photography art exhibitions in London this August include work at a new outdoor space at Kings Cross. As well as that show there is a display at Borough Market highlighting UK poverty. Further we have added an online exhibition of American photography at the Zurich based Fabian & Claude Walter gallery. That show, which can be accessed for free, with no need to enter personal details, presents work from favourite American artists such as Saul Leiter, Herb Ritts and Vivian Maier. Meanwhile the display at the huge new space at Kings Cross presents work exploring idealised image of modern everyday life by three photographers. Finally the important Joseph Rowntree Foundation display on poverty at Borough Market presents 20 photographs by Jillian Edelstein. In addition to those three exhibitions, the fantastic Masculinities display continues at the Barbican Centre in the City. Meanwhile, David Goldblatt’s Johannesburg exhibition continues at the Goodman Gallery. Finally the Waiting summer exhibition contines at South Kensington’s HackelBury gallery. Photography Exhibitions London August 2020 Photography exhibitions London August, 2020 bring work from enigmatic Czech artist Jan Svodoba and also South African David Goldblatt. In further detail, apartheid era photographer David Goldblatt’s work features at his first London exhibition since the 1980s. Also returning to London after the first exhibition in 1982 is work by Jan Svodoba. A painterly photography, he was known equally for his talent behind the capture and masterfully crafting it in the dark room. Note some art photography shows are closing soon. Included is the outdoor exhibition of Grenfell Tower victim Khadija Saye. As well as that display. The first part of the Gordon Parks exhibition at Alison Jacques also closes soon.
